Hi, my name is Rohit Garud. I have completed my bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and post-graduation in Design Engineering. My interest in the use of programming in Mechanical Engineering led me to start this blog.
As Mechanical Engineers, we tend to distance ourselves from programming saying we don’t need it, it is tough, the mechanical industry does not use programming and whatnot. But the reality is exactly the opposite. As the technology is changing, we are moving towards the Industry 4.0, the so-called Fourth Industrial Revolution. So programming has become an essential skill to have. My mission for this blog is:
– to get Mechanical Engineers interested in programming
– remove the fear of programming from their minds by implementing the familiar ME concepts using programming
– and get them ready for the challenges of the future.
Python is the programming language used in this blog. Python is an open-source, English-like, easy to learn language, unlike C, C++. This makes the content of this blog easy to understand, even if you haven’t done any coding before.
The blog follows a simple format: a theoretical explanation of the ME concepts followed by their Python implementations. This clear separation makes it easier for you to go through the articles, if you are interested in only the engineering concepts and want to come back later to learn the programming part.
I hope you find the content of this blog useful. Contact me if you have any queries about the content.
